Cajun French: le manger (lu mon-jā) – eats; food
Laurie: Eight years ago I listened to my doctor tell me I either had to lose weight or go on medication; I don’t like meds and I didn’t want my health connected to medication. Knowing what I had to do and also knowing how hard it would be, I made a commitment to myself to drop the weight forever. Although I was not sure how I was going to do that, divine intervention occurred via my mail – a magazine article discussing the South Beach Diet. After reading the article, I knew I could manage a weight loss program which turned into a lifestyle change, I lost 43 pounds and have managed to keep the pounds off.
Mais C’est Bon!
Enjoy!!
Nine months ago John and I made another lifestyle change, we became pescatarians. We have removed all animal products from our diet except for eggs. This move was not cast in stone and we are not snobs about this change, we find it better for our health and well-being.
Now John has decided he needs to get serious about changing his eating lifestyle so we are back on South Beach Phase 1. It is much easier to make changes when you have a partner and I can definitely benefit from Phase 1. This will be an interesting and adventurous two weeks since we no longer eat cheese or meat.
Walk with us through our journey and enjoy the adventure.
Congratulation, a diet takes a lot of discipline, organization and willpower. Good luck with the South Beach diet!
Thanks for the comment and I agree. We look at diet as a change in lifestyle. Hopefully we will never return to the pre change days. I have kept my lifestyle change for eight years; I am now doing it again so John is not alone in his lifestyle change. We will keep all updated on the journey.
