Camp Dog’s in the House

Cajun French: le chien (lu shee-ain) – dog

There is a new dog in the house or at least on the pantry shelf – Camp Dog Cajun Seasoning.  Our pantry has a shelf of nothing except Cajun and Creole Seasonings and we use all of them.  Of course, we have our favorites yet are always interested in new versions.  Enter Camp Dog and he hopped right up on the shelf.  We received a can of Camp Dog Cajun Seasoning in the mail and have been trying it on everything from eggs to Brussels Sprouts.

Mais C’est Bon!

Enjoy!!

We saw Camp Dog Cajun Seasoning on Twitter and asked where we could purchase the product.  Unfortunately, no one in our area carries the seasoning so a sample would be sent and we were ready.  Little did we realize, our sample would be a can of Original Camp Dog Cajun Seasoning.  Thank you for doing that because the small sample would not have lasted anytime.

What is in a name like Camp Dog?  Any sportsman with a camp know someone has to stay behind, no hunting or fishing for them.  Some say he is over looked and under complemented so Camp Dog Cajun Seasoning was developed to honor all the “Camp Dogs”.

Great story, now how is the seasoning?  First off, not salty and that is very good.  We did plenty taste testing with several of our Cajun and Creole seasonings.  Camp Dog was the only one that the first taste was not salt.  Secondly, it has a kick and that is good.  The kick hit the back of our mouths, not fiery hot, a rich peppery taste.

There is always room for another Cajun seasoning in the pantry and Camp Dog Cajun Seasoning is sitting pretty on our shelf – already a favorite.
