Farmers Markets We Shopped

Farmers Markets are one of our passions.
They are said to be one of the oldest and basic forms of direct marketing – customer deals directly with producer.  There are various beliefs about the beginning of Farmers Markets in the U.S.  Some believe they began in 1907 when Pike Place Market opened in Seattle, another belief is they began in 1934 when farmers gathered at Gilmore Island in Los Angeles displaying their produce on the tailgate of their vehicles.  I don’t think the beginning matters as much as how many there are today.  Wherever we travel one of the first things we do is look for a farmers market.  Buying local is very important to us and we like to support the local economy in our travels.  Below is a list of farmers markets we have shopped.  The list will be updated as we find more markets.
Farmers are the life blood of America.  Please support your local farmers and shop the farmers market wherever you may be. Some markets are very seasonal, so check before shopping.
Local Harvest list farmers markets in the U.S.  The site will state the last time an entry was updated.  There are numerous listings for Farmers Markets, although we are sure it is not complete.  At least it is a starting point for research.
