Junction City, KS Farmers Market

Friends accuse us of planning our travels around Farmers Markets and they are correct.  As we have said before, we are addicted to Farmers Markets.  Most of our weekly groceries are purchased at Farmers Markets and we enjoy the variety and freshness that the markets offer.  No market is too small for us to visit because we always find something interesting.

Saturday found us in Junction City, KS and there was a farmers market for us to visit.  Arriving at the location we realized this
market was not one of the largest yet again there is always something interesting.

Probably the most interesting purchase this Saturday was Sweet Potato Fingerlings.  Although we have had and just purchased Potato Fingerlings; we had never seen Sweet Potato Fingerlings.  We are ready to have some fun cooking.

Peppers were in abundance and we walked away with large Jalapenos, a colorful selection of Banana Peppers, and some Sweet Red Bell Peppers.  Some Mustard Greens and Chives also found their way into our basket.

Laurie’s dad once said, “No two bowls of gumbo are the same, yet each is good in its own right.”  So too are farmers markets, no two are ever the same yet each has its own unique contribution and quality.  Once again this market showed quality not quantity rules!
