Highland Farmers Market Denver, Colorado

Our third farmers market in three days was in the Highland area of Denver, Colorado. It is a neighborhood farmers market featuring farm goods, prepared foods and crafts. Our nephew, Matthew Erley, lives in the Highland neighborhood and was anxious to show us their market.

Although small, it offered a variety of items not found at the other markets. Locally packaged oils and vinegars were available as well as an assortment of fresh pasta.

Colorado Wise Acres Farm from Fort Lupton, CO, offered a selection of new potatoes we couldn’t resist. Bonacquisti Wine Co., Denver, had a booth where we purchased [d] Red, a red blend, to enjoy with a meal.

Our best find was a Columbian Tamale wrapped in a banana leaf. It was topped with two sauces and more than satisfied our lunch appetite.

This was the perfect ending to our farmers markets in the Denver/Boulder area.
